Me: Hey Dad.

Dad: Oh hey, uh… Hey.

Me: Hi.

Dad: How are you doing?

Me: Not great.

Dad: Oh good, good. Hey, I meant to tell you — I went to lunch with my mother and sister the other day.

Me: Yeah?

Dad: Yeah, and we were talking about traveling, I can’t remember why…

Me: Maybe because I just got back from a trip?

Dad: Huh. I have no idea how it came up. Huh. Well anyway, we were talking about traveling, and my sister had a funny story about Hawaii.

Me: Oh yeah?

Dad: Yeah, we laughed a lot.

Me: What was it?

Dad: Hm, I don’t remember now, something about a coconut? It was funny.

Me: That’s good.

Dad: Yup. So what’s going on with you?

Me: Well, something terrible happened–

Dad: Oh hey, that’s my call waiting. Let me just check… Oh hey, I’ve got to take this. Have a good night!
