Since 2001, my dream became a reality with my first column appearing in the Greensboro News and Record as a Personal Ads feature on April 30, 2002. On August 22, 2002, the first As I See It column appeared in the High Point Enterprise. As I See It column would be a regular feature in the High Point Enterprise for several years. My columns have also appeared in the Reidsville Review, the Eden Daily News, the Gilroy Dispatch, the Hollister Freelance, the Hopewell News and the Foothills Paper.
My column "Answer the Phone" which is about my mother's trials and tribulations with the answering machine appears in Chicken Soup for the Soul "Family Matters", and columns "Honesty Can Kill a Relationship" and "Put On Something Else" appear in Chicken Soup for the Soul "Married Life".
Several of my stories have been recognized in writing contests. Never Leave an Empty Roll, gained recognition as a Finalist, Tag Along, gained recognition as a Semi-Finalist, and Answer The Phone gained recognition as an Honorable Mention in a HumorPress.com “America’s Funniest Humor” Writing contest.
I was honored to have “If That’s Not Cheating, Then What Is?” showcased at the Greensboro 2020 Fringe Festival.
In 2019 my play Stanley and Alice was produced in Winston-Salem, NC. It is about a retired couple and their humorous daily adventures. I am constantly on the search for other theaters to call home, so I’d welcome your help. You can contact me through my site www:cindyargiento.com and to read about my plays and works.
