Christmas Tree + Sex + Cat = Disaster

It was a week before Christmas
When all through my head
I envisioned the tree
Wearing birds that were red
Cardinals arrived ordered online
Decorating took a very long time
Our tree sparkled with birds alight
As we both looked on in proud delight
Our cat sat staring at our bird surprise
Slowly blinking her mischievous eyes
She curled up beneath our natural tree
As up the stairs we rushed with glee
Mama in her teddy and I in the nude
Were heating things up, creating a mood
When all of a sudden, a loud crashing boom
Ruined the romance in our bedroom
Alarmed by the noise, we raced downstairs
And were met by feathers flying in air
The tree on the floor, the room all a mess
At first we thought we had a strange guest
Feathers and plastic were littering the rug
Much of it spilling from our cat’s open mug
Our disguised sweet pet was really a savage
Chewing contently on a bird she had ravaged
Nature’s wild call had the final true words
No more decorating with bright red birds
